Induction Neckloop Earpiece

The neckloop is the engine of any magnetic earpiece system. This thin-wire induction coil worn around your neck generates the magnetic field that drives the nano-earpiece in your ear canal.

What Is an Induction Neckloop?

An induction neckloop is a coil of thin copper wire shaped into a loop that hangs around your neck like a necklace, hidden under your shirt or jacket. The loop is connected to a small control module that receives audio from either a GSM cellular connection or a Bluetooth connection to your phone.

When audio plays through the neckloop, the electrical current in the wire creates an alternating magnetic field. This field extends a few inches from the loop, reaching up to your ear where the magnetic nano-earpiece responds by vibrating and producing sound. The neckloop is essentially a specialized antenna that converts electrical audio signals into magnetic fields.

GSM Neckloop (Recommended)

The GSM model includes a built-in SIM card slot and cellular radio. It connects directly to the mobile phone network without needing a paired phone. Your assistant calls the SIM number from anywhere in the world, and audio plays through the neckloop to your earpiece. This is the most secure option because no phone needs to be on your person.

Bluetooth Neckloop

The Bluetooth model pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth. Audio from any phone call or app plays through the neckloop to the magnetic earpiece. This model is simpler and cheaper than GSM, but requires you to have a phone nearby (in a bag or pocket). The Bluetooth signal from phone to neckloop is detectable by RF scanners.

Dual-Mode Neckloop

The dual-mode model supports both GSM and Bluetooth, giving you maximum flexibility. Use GSM when you need to be completely phone-free, or switch to Bluetooth when you want to use your phone's audio capabilities (like text-to-speech apps or recorded audio files).

Wearing the Neckloop

The neckloop wire is only 2.5mm thick, similar to a thin chain necklace. It sits flat against your skin under a collared shirt, t-shirt, or jacket. The control module (about the size of a USB drive) tucks into your collar or clips to the inside of your shirt.

For maximum concealment, wear a shirt with a collar that covers the neckloop wire completely. Crew-neck t-shirts work if the loop sits below the neckline. V-neck shirts can expose the wire and should be avoided.

Neckloop Care

The wire is flexible but not indestructible. Avoid sharp bends, twisting, or pulling. Store the neckloop in its case when not in use. The wire can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the control module in water. Charge the battery fully before each use and do not leave it on the charger overnight.

Neckloop Positioning for Maximum Audio Quality

The strength of the magnetic field reaching the earpiece depends on the distance between the neckloop wire and the earpiece in your ear canal. For optimal audio quality, position the neckloop as high on your neck as possible, ideally with the wire sitting just below your jawline. This minimizes the distance between the induction coil and the magnetic capsule, producing the strongest magnetic coupling and the loudest, clearest audio.

Some users prefer to wear the neckloop lower on the neck for easier concealment under open-collar shirts. This works but reduces audio volume by approximately twenty to thirty percent because the increased distance weakens the magnetic field. If you need to wear the neckloop lower, compensate by using the 2mm standard earpiece rather than the 1.5mm ultra-micro, as the larger capsule has a stronger magnetic response and can produce audible sound at greater distances from the neckloop.

Neckloop Signal Security

The induction signal between the neckloop and earpiece is inherently secure against eavesdropping. The magnetic field drops off with the cube of distance, meaning that at twelve inches from the neckloop the field strength is less than one percent of its value at the earpiece. At three feet, the field is completely undetectable by any commercial equipment. This means no one standing near you can intercept or listen to the audio being transmitted to your earpiece, even with sophisticated detection equipment. The signal is effectively point-to-point between the neckloop on your neck and the earpiece in your ear, with no usable signal extending beyond a few inches from the wire.

This contrasts sharply with Bluetooth, which transmits omnidirectionally with a range of thirty feet or more. A Bluetooth signal from an earpiece can be intercepted and listened to by anyone with a Bluetooth scanner within range. The neckloop's induction field provides natural encryption through physics: the signal simply does not exist at distances beyond a few inches from the coil, making interception physically impossible.

Neckloop FAQ

Can I wear the neckloop during physical activity?

The neckloop is designed for stationary or low-activity use. Walking, sitting, and normal movement are fine. Vigorous physical activity like running, jumping, or bending over repeatedly may cause the neckloop to shift position and the control module to become visible. If you need to move around while using the system, secure the control module to the inside of your collar with the included clip and wear a shirt that fits close to your neck to keep the wire from moving. Sports applications are not recommended as sweat can damage the control module's electronic components over time.

How do I know the neckloop is working?

The GSM neckloop has a single LED indicator on the control module that shows status: steady green means powered on and connected to the cellular network, flashing green means incoming call, steady blue means active call in progress, and red means low battery. The LED is small enough to be invisible under clothing but visible when you check it directly. The Bluetooth neckloop uses a similar LED system for pairing and connection status. Both models also provide a brief vibration when powering on and when a call connects, giving you tactile confirmation that the system is active.
